Egan 2025.01 - Top Performers
With 86 riders and 258 PRs, the 2025 Egan season started strong despite the cool and windy weather. Thanks to Mark Filer for providing popsicles at the top of Madonna Way! (Yes, these were in fact the same popsicles that Mark served for the Egan finalé last year, and he has assured me that his freezer is top quality).

Next week’s Egan (March 18th) will be special! There will be a “Pop-up Trunk” at the Lincoln Ave parking lot (https://maps.app.goo.gl/9oMLW8czFVLHMrNZ6) from 5:00-5:45pm where you’ll have the opportunity to meet our sponsors who’ll be showcasing their latest innovations:
Derek Wiback, founder of Eliel Cycling. Derek will show off some of Eliel’s latest technical garments.
Whitman Kwok, founder of KAV Helmets. Whitman will bring a couple of his latest exciting helmet designs.
Nicolas Perpere of Duke Racing Wheels. (650)-492-9633. Nicolas will feature some fancy carbon wheels.
Jen Tavé, chiropractor and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
In addition, we’ll be distributing over 90 pairs of pre-ordered Egan socks designed by Defeet. You can still purchase them online and pick them on 3/18. Be sure to arrive early to claim your socks!
Note: If you’re wondering how to show up in the results, here’s how it works:
Upload your ride that evening (the results are tabulated early Wednesday mornings)
In your privacy controls, make sure that everyone can see your activities (if you’re worried about privacy, Strava has other settings such as restricting your profile page to followers and map start/end point visibility)
You have to complete all segments to show up in the GC
Get your Egan socks! Mix and match!
A Brompton can do Egan. Who knew it was possible?
