AV C Ride for Saturday, 8/6 - Sawyer Camp Route - Start Summit Bikes in Palo Alto

Hi,

I’ll be leading this Saturday’s AV C ride as we again head out on The Sawyer Camp Route. This is an excellent route for us to practice smooth steady pace-lining as the miles roll by.

Time: Saturday, gather at 9am. rolling by 9:15am

Protocol: Double paceline where conditions allow, jamming as hard as you like on the 3 climbs (2nd Sandhill bump, Crystal Springs Rd., Huddart), regrouping & sticking together otherwise. Bring two water bottles as the first stop for water is the Water Temple on the return at mile 26.

Route:  Park, Stanford Campus, Sandhill, Manzanita, Woodside, Canada, Bike Path, Polhemus, Crystal Springs Rd., 35 (short), 92 (short, on shoulder), Canada, Olive Hill, Kings, Greer, Kings, Mtn Home, Portola, Alpine, Junipera Serra, Stanford Rd

Regroups: Woodside, Canada X Bike Path (tho the goal is to stick together paceling on Canada), Crystal Springs Trailhead, Water Temple (again, all should be together at this point), Woodside Store, Alpine, Page Mill

The AV C Ride offers a more moderate workout than the other Alto Velo rides (tho a workout it is). Group riding skills & communication in a supportive controlled paceline are emphasized. When not on designated climbs, we aim to keep the group together.
